The Food and Resource Economics Department offers three specializations leading to a B.S. degree in Food and Resource Economics. Each specialization offers students the opportunity to develop the skills needed to successfully compete for careers in a number of areas. Graduates choose from a vast number of career opportunties, including sales, marketing, management, environmental policy, international trade, international marketing, economic analysis, natural resource management, human resource management. During your program of study in FRE, there are opportunities for internships, study abroad, scholarships, participating in our award-winning competition teams, and much more. The faculty pride themselves on offering students the best education by concentrating on in-class experiential learning, out-of-class supplemental activities, and quality advising.

The three specializations in FRE are:
Food and Agribusiness Marketing and Management
This specialization is for students interested in careers in marketing, management, finance, sales, and international business in the food and agricultural field. The combination of management, marketing, finance, and economics classes helps prepare students to be competitive for a number of exciting job opportunities.

Natural Resource, Environmental Economics, and Policy
This specialization is for students interested in careers in environmental economics, law, and policy. Including our Agricultural and Natural Resource Law minor, it is an ideal choice for students seeking admission to Law School. Other students seek careers in exciting fields such as resource management, policy development, environmental consulting.

International Food and Resource Economics
This specialization provides a broad background in economic theory and international trade. Many students use opportunities in this program to learn a second language, study abroad, or take internships in international agribusiness companies. Career opportunities include working for international businesses, governmentals, and non-governmental organizations.
