Sungeun Yoon

Assistant Research Scientist

Dr. Sungeun Yoon is an assistant research scientist in the Food and Resource Economics Department. She received her B.A. in agricultural economics and B.S. in horticultural science from Chungbuk National University, followed by M.A. in agricultural economics at Seoul National University and Ph.D. in food and resource economics at the University of Florida. 

Her research interests lie at the intersections of consumer behavior, food marketing, and food & environmental policies and programs. 

Her recent research explored how environmental concern shapes food and food-related consumption behaviors, empirically estimating the extent to which contemporary consumerism incorporates environmental impact. As an assistant research scientist, her research focuses on Florida citrus industry, with the goal to promote Florida orange juice in the global and domestic market by providing data-driven information on consumer preferences for orange juice. She utilizes various methods and datasets in her research from choice modeling, causal inference, experimental design, and large household and retail scanner data.
